I did it! It’s been awhile now since I finished, but I wanted to be sure to let all of you know that I made it — 50,000 words in the month of November! It was such an amazing journey — the most consistent writing I’ve ever done in my life. I kept on track with my daily word count and got the bulk of my novel Shows finished. It still needs a lot of work, but first the first draft actually needs to be finished — 50,000 words left me a few chapters short. So a few days ago I made a goal to finish up this book before the end of the year.

It’s a much smaller goal — only about 16,000 words or so — so I won’t have too much work to do during this already full month. But I’m really happy I’ve been able to get the first version of this novel out of my brain after I’ve been thinking about it for so many years. Will it ever be published? I have no idea. Right now, I’m just going to write it — and see what happens from there.
