A Winning Sci-Fi Lullaby

guitar

Some of you may remember the sci-fi lullaby contest I held awhile back for my novel Firmament: Radialloy several months ago. First I had the members of HolyWorlds Sci-Fi forum write lyrics, then I chose two finalists from the plethora of wonderful entries. Then I took the contest over to HolyWorlds Fantasy for phase two of the contest–writing music to the two finalists.

If you haven’t joined HolyWorlds forums yet, you should. It’s full of creative people who constantly amaze me! Every single one of the lullabies that the members turned out was a beautiful song in its own right that nearly put me to sleep. Finally, I settled on All is Not What it Seems, with lyrics by Calista Beth and music by BushMaid. Of all the entries, this was the one that best fit the place that the song holds in the Firmament series.

BushMaid kindly allowed me to show her beautiful recording of the song to my readers! You can listen to it below–and imagine Andi in the Doctor’s dim cabin, quietly singing him to sleep.

Thank you, Calista and BushMaid for a song that I will be proud to feature in future novels.
